[From Fearful to Confident] – Excerpt
I saw the importance of networking while in university. Some of my classmates started networking with industry players during those days. It got them into their desired jobs even before graduation. But it was too uncomfortable for me that I ignored it until I started working.

Network without Guidance
A sales position upon graduation led to the start of my networking journey and I finally stepped out of my comfort zone. I went to networking sessions alone, without any plans or goals.

Sometimes I left early to avoid people. Other times I joined small groups in their conversations and left without them knowing who I was. I used to sit at a corner quietly, waiting for people to come to me.

Ironically, I’d simultaneously wish nobody would come so I would not need to talk.

When I eventually did talk to somebody, the conversation felt awkward. This went on for months. I made many mistakes.

If I had known some networking techniques then, it would have made my journey less painful!
